Transfer Student Scholarships

The 91老司机 - Fort Smith is the perfect choice for transfer students who want to complete their bachelor's degree or seek a more personalized academic experience. 91老司机 academic and financial aid advisors will help you get the most out of the credit hours you've already earned and make you aware of opportunities for financial aid.

91老司机 offers many scholarships specifically for transfer students to reward your academic achievements and help pay for your degree. Our $1,000 Helping Hands Transfer Scholarship is available to students with 12 transferrable credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA. Additional details about this scholarship and others are available below.

No separate scholarship application is required for transfer awards. However, all materials for the Application for Admission must be received by the application deadline.

Students are encouraged to apply early for admission to 91老司机 for priority consideration of Transfer Student Scholarships. Scholarships are awarded as long as funding remains.

Students must be accepted for admission and classified as transfer students by the priority admission deadline to be eligible for priority consideration.

Although students may qualify for multiple scholarships, only one may be accepted. 91老司机 will award the largest scholarship.

 

Merit Scholarships

*Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership must be submitted to admissions@uafs.edu by June 1 for the fall semester and Nov. 15 for the spring semester.

Arkansas Workforce Challenge

The Workforce Challenge Scholarship was created in the 2017 legislative session and is funded by lottery revenue. The purpose of the scholarship is for workforce training in high-demand areas of healthcare, information technology, and industry. Classes are not limited to credit-bearing programs. Non-credit workforce training classes that fit into the three above categories may also qualify.

 

Law Enforcement Officer's Dependent Scholarship (LEO)

LEO provides a waiver of tuition, fees, room, and board at any public college, university, or technical institute in Arkansas for dependents and spouses of Arkansas law enforcement officers, some Highway and Transportation Department employees, and other public employees who were killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.

 

Military Dependents Scholarship (MDS)

MDS provides a waiver of tuition, fees, room, and board at any public college, university, or technical institute in Arkansas for dependents and spouses of Arkansans who were killed, missing in action, or prisoners of war or who are totally and permanently disabled.

 

Single Parent Scholarship Fund

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarships (ASPSF) offers scholarships to low-income single parents who are pursuing post-secondary education that leads to skilled employment. Scholarship Funds are administered at the local level. Full-time and part-time scholarships are available.

 

Teacher Opportunity Program (TOP)

TOP offers reimbursement funding Arkansas teachers and administrators who are furthering their education. Teachers and administrators may apply for reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. Funding covers up to six credit hours per academic year, not to exceed $3,000.

 

Washington Center Scholarship

This program awards scholarships of up to $6,000 to Arkansas students who are accepted to the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars located in Washington, D.C.

 

Other Potential Scholarships

Cherokee Nation Higher Education Scholarship

Citizens of the Cherokee Nation actively pursuing a higher education degree may apply to receive educational scholarships payable directly to an accredited college or university. Some scholarships may have restrictions, such as students with multiple tribal lineages may only receive assistance from one tribe.  Students must be working toward an Associate of Arts or Science, Associate of Applied Science in Nursing ONLY, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degrees.

 

Choctaw Nation College Scholarship

Any member of the Choctaw Nation actively pursuing a higher education degree may apply to receive scholarships payable directly to an accredited college or university. Students must be working toward a minimum of an associate degree. Students may receive assistance while working toward one associate degree (maximum six full-time grading periods), one bachelor's degree (maximum 12 full-time grading periods), one master's degree (maximum six full-time grading periods), and one doctorate degree (maximum four full-time grading periods total after all-but-dissertation status) while making forward academic progress.
