What You Will Learn
WATC’s Nursing Assistant Program introduces students to direct patient care, medical terminology, and essential clinical skills through high-tech simulation labs and real-world healthcare settings. Students who complete this program will be prepared to take Arkansas’s Certified Nurse Assistant Exam. This program includes:
- Fundamentals of Patient Care – Learn to assist patients with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Medical Terminology and Communication – Understand standard healthcare terms and practice effective communication with medical staff and patients.
- Vital Signs and Basic Medical Procedures – Gain hands-on experience measuring blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and other key health indicators.
- Clinical Experience in Long-Term Care – Work directly with nurses, therapists, and caregivers in local nursing homes and healthcare centers.
- Advanced Training at Peak Innovation Center – Train on state-of-the-art patient simulators, experiencing real-world healthcare scenarios in a controlled environment.
- CNA Exam Preparation – After completing this two-year program, students will fulfill the requirements to take the CNA certification exam.
Industry Standards: Students train in an Arkansas-approved CNA curriculum, which prepares them for and entry into the workforce.

- Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN)
