91老司机鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in middle childhood education (grades 4-8) program provides an in-depth curriculum with concentrations in English, math, science, and social studies taught by accomplished education faculty. Coursework meets Arkansas and National Middle School Association standards for teacher licensure in middle childhood.
There is a separate application for admission into the School of Education, and requirements for admission may change over time. Students must meet admission requirements that are current at the time of their final application for admission to the teacher education program.
Certificates of Proficiency
This 15-hour program provides a curriculum designed for those who teach English as
a second language domestically and abroad. Courses include Language and Culture, Second
Language Acquisition, English Grammar, and Intermediate Spanish II. By completing
this coursework and the state-required PRAXIS Assessment, licensed teachers can add
an ESL endorsement to their Arkansas teaching license.
This 9-credit hour program provides curriculum designed for those in helping professions such as human services, health care organizations, educators, and others. Courses include Intermediate Spanish I, II, and Spanish for the Professions. Beginning Spanish I and II, or required placement scores are prerequisites for Intermediate Spanish I.

This 12-hour program is designed to address special education and is not available
in all licensure areas. Current students must be admitted to the teacher education
program to enroll in this program. By completing this coursework and the state-required
PRAXIS Assessment, licensed teachers can add the SERR endorsement to their Arkansas
teaching license.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- articulate content knowledge in two of the following content areas: Math, Social Studies, Reading, and Science, to proficiently teach Arkansas content area standards in the grades 4-8 classroom environment.
- construct an appropriate response to diversity in the classroom, to prepare teacher candidates for appropriate differentiated instruction. Teacher candidates will demonstrate evidence-based best practices to meet the needs of all students in the grades 4-8 classroom environment.
- articulate developmentally appropriate evidence-based instruction, demonstrating proficiency in content, lesson planning, differentiation, and reflective practices.
- prioritize professional collaboration by engaging with colleagues, families, and communities in a respectful, reciprocal relationship that fosters classroom development.
