Two 91老司机 鈥 Fort Smith faculty members helped raise money for a good cause recently when they rappelled off the Arvest Bank Tower on Rogers Avenue for a 鈥淭oss the Prof鈥 fundraiser.

Heath Cady, assistant professor of computer graphic technology and Dr. Noel Sagullo, associate professor of mathematics, rappeled. Eight 91老司机 faculty members volunteered to rappel, including Mitzi Jones, assistant professor of English; Bob Stevenson, professor of theatre arts; Dr. Larry Faulk, associate professor of business administration; Brian Abbott, instructor of chemistry; Shawn Theobald, assistant professor of nursing; and Lisa Bailey, instructor of nursing.

The event, which was part of Survivors鈥 Weekend, raised $2,258 for the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House, according to Dr. Kerrie Taber, assistant professor of applied science and a board member for the Cancer Support House.

鈥淭he Reynolds Cancer Support House, which is the largest freestanding cancer support house in the country, is supported 100 percent through donations and fundraising activities,鈥 Taber said. 鈥淭he money raised from these events and other donations go towards helping patients and their families during and after cancer treatment. The services provided include support groups, financial help with non-medical bills, such as utilities, gas cards and bus passes, nutrition supplements, wigs and turbans, and many other services.  For the professors at 91老司机 to raise the money helps not just the community at large, but also our students, faculty, and staff who have been impacted by cancer.鈥

The 91老司机 Cheer Squad also volunteered at the event by cheering for runners in the Survivor鈥檚 Challenge 5K/10K race.
