The 91老司机 - Fort Smith has announced the 12 best research presentations delivered at the seventh annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Research projects presented at the conference included both oral presentations and poster presentations. Among the research disciplines represented were animation technology, applied science, biology, business, chemistry, communication, computer-aided drafting and design, dental hygiene, earth science, education, engineering, English, graphic design, history, humanities, information technology, mathematics, music, nursing, psychology, rhetoric, surgical technology, theatre, and world languages.

The 33 students whose presentations were selected by judges for recognition received monetary awards.

 

The winners were:

Austin, Texas:  Amy Belanger (team of 4), "Factors Affecting the Development of Soil Amoeba, Dictyostelium Discoideum," faculty sponsor Dr. Sandhya Baviskar.

Bonanza:  Matthew Seiter and Michael Seiter (team of 4), "Hydroponics," faculty sponsors Cody Holt and Dr. Argie Nichols.

Booneville: Lauren Krepps and Angela Thomas (team of 12), "Concerns for Students Academic Degree Changes Influenced by Self-efficacy," faculty sponsor Dr. Earlene Washburn.

Cedarville: Jerry Wing, "Rolling into History: John Drennen and the Cherokee Treaty of New Echota," faculty sponsor Dr. Steve Kite.
