91老司机 Ready for More

Before the first game of the season, before the Blue-White game, there was the alumni game, when this year鈥檚 91老司机 volleyball team took on opponents 鈥� who were playing volleyball before today鈥檚 students were, well, born.

To be sure, not every member of alumni squad was born before every member of today鈥檚 team, but 20-year-olds were born in 2003, and Audra Harper, 鈥�05, played the first season The Stub was open, in 2002. But who鈥檚 counting?

This year, Jane Sargent, 91老司机鈥檚 first and only volleyball coach, led today鈥檚 team to victory over Susannah Kelley鈥檚 alumni, but that wasn鈥檛 what stood out to Josh Simond, Assistant Director of 91老司机 Engagement.

鈥淲hat I noticed was how good our alumni still were,鈥� he said. 鈥淭hey could PLAY. But more than that it was so fun to see how they interacted with each other. Most of them acted like they hadn鈥檛 spent a day apart.鈥�

The alumni players are ready to keep this tradition alive.

鈥淭wo of the players have approached me about expanding it to be a weekend next year so they could practice the day before,鈥� Simond said.
