CBPD to Host Series of Workshops This Fall
The 91ÀÏ˾»ú – Fort Smith Center for Business and Professional Development will host a series of workshops and certificate courses designed for individuals who wish to improve a specific skillset, sharpen workplace understanding, develop leadership abilities, or take a deeper dive into interpersonal and group communication.
Fall 2022 Courses include:
Tuesday and Thursday, August 2 through September 15, from 8 a.m. to Noon
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification prepares individuals to work on quality improvement projects in any industry. This course will cover critical tools in project management methodologies to solve quality problems, master descriptive statistics to understand data and calculate and analyze specific risks.
Wednesday, August 3, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Emotional Intelligence is a three-hour workshop focused on developing self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and critical leadership skills essential in business and the workplace.
GRIT Workplace Leadership Series
Wednesdays, August 10-31, from 8 a.m. to Noon
This four-week course will teach individuals behavior styles and communication tactics, performance management, and coaching skills to enhance workplace partnerships and develop skills in workplace compliance.
First session attendance is mandatory.
FOCUS Workplace Leadership Series
Wednesday, August 10, 17, 24, and 31, from 1-5 p.m.
This four-week course will teach individuals to build strategic plans that engage the workplace environment, set goals, introduce project management, and practice time and deadline management.
Monday, August 29, from 1-3 p.m.
This two-hour session focuses on creating formulas and functions in Excel. Topics include basic mathematical calculations, cell addresses, named ranges, and the insert function feature.
The workshop is open to the public and costs $49 per attendee.
Thursday, August 18 and 25 from 1-5 p.m.
Designed to help novice computer users quickly get up to speed with Excel, this training will cover features including creating a new spreadsheet, working with basic formulas and functions, and making a spreadsheet look professional and presentable. Topics include basic worksheet functionality, working with data (formulas and functions), managing large workbooks, modifying a worksheet, printing workbook contents, and customizing the Excel environment.
All trainings will be held at the 91ÀÏ˾»ú Center for Economic Development at The Bakery District in downtown Fort Smith.
In addition to standardized trainings, the Center for Business and Professional Development delivers customized training and consulting services to meet individual and company goals.
