Tammy Rogers, DNP, RN, CNE, CHSE, includes in her teaching interests the use of simulation to build student confidence,
communication, and knowledge in a safe environment. Her goal is to encourage students
to collaborate with other disciplines, seek evidence-based practice guidelines, and
become life-long learners. Student nurses are active learners, and she feels the use
of simulation will increase their problem-solving ability and make their learning
time more productive.
Her research interests include the effects of simulation on new graduate performance. She feels simulation experiences can assist with the transition to the new graduate role while building confidence, communication, and clinical judgment.
