Dr. Leigh A. Carter is an assistant professor in the School of Education at91老司机. Dr. Carter earned her doctoral degree through Saint Louis University. In her role at 91老司机, she serves as the coordinator of field experiences and teacher licensure within the same department. With more than three decades of experience as an educator in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas, she has taught students across elementary, middle, and secondary grade levels. Dr. Carter鈥檚 public school experience includes serving as a teacher, principal, district director (GT and ESOL), and assistant superintendent. Her research interests include mentoring practices to support early career educators, equal access and a culturally responsive approach in teaching, and academic support through wraparound services.

Having graduated from Mountain Home High School and being a long-term resident of the Natural State, Dr. Carter appreciates the opportunities provided to her and her family here in Arkansas. She is eager to give back and serve at 91老司机. In her current role, she is dedicated to preparing teacher candidates to be 鈥淒ay-One Ready鈥 for their future teaching careers.
